American Musicological Society
Greater New York Chapter

Who we are

The Greater New York Chapter of the American Musicological Society is a group of scholars, performers, and composers who actively study music and its place in society. We welcome those who live in New York City and the surrounding area, Long Island, northern and central New Jersey, and western Connecticut, as well as anyone else who is interested in the chapter’s mission and activities. The chapter holds between two and four meetings a year. Announcements of meetings and calls for proposals are e mailed to chapter members and are also listed on this website.

We are part of the American Musicological Society, a national organization based at New York University. You may access their website here: http://ams-net.org/. Further information about AMS chapters can be found here: http://ams-net.org/chapters/.  You may contact us via the chapter secretary, Nicholas Chong, at nicholas.chong@rutgers.edu.
